Our peaceful cottage is nestled among the redwoods, a few miles inland from the Mendocino Coast. High ceilings and skylights make this space feel spacious, offering natural light, and views of the majestic trees. The surrounding community is special, with many residents having lived here for decades, tending their homesteads. On your way in, you are likely to see cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens. Deer, coyote, foxes, mountain lions, owls, hawks, vultures, and bears also frequent the area.

Carpenter/Musicians/Local Artist-built cabin with much natural wood & light. 15 minutes to Mendocino "proper"; 5 minutes to Albion harbor; 10 minutes to Navarro State beach; 6 minutes to Navarro Headlands trail. Many other great walks close by - & from the property. Night skies replete with stars & murmur of the Pacific just a few minutes down the hill. Retreat. Recreate. Or work (strong Wi-Fi) away...

Nearby is excellent dining; art galleries, theater, golf, tennis, spas, kayaking, fishing, nightlife and unique shopping in Mendocino, Little River and Fort Bragg. Stay several days to enjoy it all.

Located in a quiet lush setting of Redwoods, and wild Rhododendrons adjacent to Jackson State Forest. The cottage has one bedroom and bathroom and the living area includes a full kitchen. Quiet and secluded. Located on a paved private lane away from traffic.

Your stay at The Roost will put you amidst sunshine and branches. The best of both worlds, we are located just 1.5 miles from the ocean in a sunny redwood grove. Of course Albion is an easy 10 minute drive to Mendocino Village. Bird lovers can enjoy their coffee on the upper deck while taking in the morning chorus. There are windows and skylights in all rooms for maximum enjoyment of the forest.
