Converted Shepherds Cottage in Traditional Cork Forest, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen & private terrace and a family shared swimming pool is available. Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour). There are a myriad of activities to enjoy on the farm. For the walkers or mountain bikers there are kilometers of footpaths around the 540 hectare farm for you to explore and for those wishing to venture further afield, the nearby peaks offer unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside. Serra d’Ossa lies at 500 metres above sea level and boasting one of the driest climates in Europe. The absence of light pollution makes this an astronomers’ paradise. Twitchers can enjoy seeking out over 70 species of birds in the unique habitat provided by the cork forest, several of our past guests are members of the RSPB and have made lists of the birds they have seen / heard. Here is a list of a few: White Stork, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, Kestrel, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Hoopoe, Red-Rumped Swallow, Great Bustard, Little Bustard and Bee Eater. Visitors to the local damn include black winged stilts and the occasional avocet. Very occasionally, bustards can be seen in the lower plains. Within a one-hour drive from the farm, you can also explore nearby towns including Evora (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Estremoz famed for its Saturday morning market, Vila Viçosa with its two royal palaces, Reguengos and even neighbouring Spain. Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide. Vineyards : While predominantly a hilly cork forest , a vineyard has recently been planted in an open valley producing Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nactional and Syrah quality grapes. Most of the grapes are sold; however a selection of the best quality grapes are retained for the production of a high quality red wine sold in Portugal under the Cem Reis label, and in the Netherlands under the Het Tientje name. This wine has been awarded silver medals in Wine Masters Challenge (Portugal), Mundus Vini (Germany), and Challenge Du Vin (France). Next year a white wine will also be produced from viognier grapes. Our wine and some products are available for purchase onsite.

It is a house, a special place mainly for its architectural forms. Here you can walk and breathe the fresh air, you can see the skies and the moon gaining relevance. Here you can draw, cook, write and read. This house reflects country life, reminding us of the simple but fundamental things in life. The property has two completely independent houses.

Casas do Poente is a property consisting of 3 houses, ours and 2 other independent houses. Casinha do Burro & Casinha da Cabra, each with its own private patio and terrace. Casinha do Burro (40m2) has 1 bedroom with double bed, the living/dining room with a kitchenette and a wood burning stove, 1 WC and a beautiful patio. The terrace overlooks the countryside, the sea and the sky! We are quiet and value both our privacy and the privacy of our guests. We are a family of 4, 2 humans and 2 dogs.

(families with infants and young children must maintain supervision when the salamander is in operation - firewood not provided)

Welcome to Quinta Carapeto ! You will stay in a traditional rammed Earth house (80qm) with great views into the valley with a distance sea view on a clear day. Its been used as a barn ans was newly renovated in 2017, we kept part of its origianally rustic charme. It's 15km to the coast line with its beautiful beaches. A spacious living room with a wood burner and an extra loft space with a single bed and meditation mat and pillow. Fully equipped kitchen and 2 bedrooms with a double bed each.

CASA PAVÃO is a true home from home for small families and couples who like space. The modern clay house with conservatory is set in an almost botanical garden with a lake-style swimming pool that is shared with the other two accommodations in the exclusive ecological country house complex SALGADINHO. Quinta do Arade - casa 4 pétalas

Located near the historical town Silves, in a area with beautiful nature surrounding it. It has a NATURAL SWIMMING POOL, swim and relax in the clean swimming area while watching hovering dragonflies, butterflies and all the magic of a natural swimming pool. In 2015 the house was completely renovated with an extension built using straw bales that keeps the house cool in the summer an warm in the winter. If you are searching for quality and peace you found the right house!

Beautiful self-built ecological house by the river

This amazing home-made house is newly renovated and located on our small farm where we grow vegetables and fruit trees. The house is made out of rammed earth and stones, placed just a few meters from the gorgeous river of Seixe, surrounded by green hills and fields. The valley is very calm and full of animals such as cows, horses, goats, donkeys, pigs & sheep. In the hot days you can take a cooling dip in the river or visit the amazing beach only 6 km away!

Design & nature in traditional hilltop house

Welcome to the Serra de Grândola, a peaceful and serene area, perfect for those who like to be close to nature. The house is located in the village of São Francisco da Serra, with its small church, windmills and cork extraction workers. Nestled on the top of its hill, the house allows quick access to the lagoon of Santo André and the ocean (10km), the villages of Melides (15km), Grândola and Comporta. A car will be required.

Casa Campo, Ocean & Nature, Costa Vicentina

Casa Campo is a cozy rammed earth house with a terracotta tiled floor and wooden roof, placed in a very calm environment. This house belongs to a "Monte Alentejano" with four houses, this is an Alentejos typical construction, which would get bigger as the family would also grow. The surrounding space is shared and every house has its own private exterior space.
