The cabin is warm and cozy, sunny, wood burner & heat pump. location is nestled between Grandview and Lake Hāwea station. We have no light pollution making for incredible stargazing.

Only five minutes drive from central Wanaka, Mount Gold Chalet is a bespoke private and cosy retreat. The exquisite wooden open plan studio chalet nestles in native forest high above Lake Wanaka. Views of the lake and surrounding mountains are breathtaking. The perfect place to rest and relax amidst 1.8 hectares of native forest and gardens. We had some issues with Vodafone broadband where guests didn’t have a strong signal sometimes, so we have upgraded to fast Starlink wifi 😄

A two minute walk to the Lake, the famous Wanaka Tree, Edgewater Hotel (the best scones ever), and the Wanaka Station Park. A 15 minute lake edge walk to Wanaka Town. Children's playground 5 min walk. One minute ride to access bike trails. A five minute drive to Roy's Peak Carpark. House is very sunny with great views from all rooms.
