Our Curious | Opossum Hollow

Welcome to Opossum Hollow in the quaint mountain town of Travelers Rest! Our partially restored 1984 Airstream Excella, lovingly referred to as `Possum Holler', is situated on the same property as our home. With a covered space for parking and a 35 foot skylight deck, this outdoor space is designed for cool evening lounging and warm afternoon napping. We worked with a number of local artisans to design and create the entire space, ensuring most every element is handmade, upcycled, and recycled!

Only minutes to Winchester the location is convenient to restaurants and shopping yet you’ll feel like you have been transported back in time to a working homestead where you can interact with all the animals.

Multiple waterfalls run the length of this home's own 4 acres — not nearby, on the property. The falls are lit after dark, and 38 windows and skylights pull in daylight by day, then frame the stars at night. Handcrafted furniture, leather sofa, deluxe hot tub, 10-speaker Sonos, color-changing lights, two fire pits, mossy creek pathways, flower beds across half the property blooming three seasons a year, and a private mile of trails that climb past a bench at every waterfall. The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. The Forge on Sunnyside Farm

Sunnyside Farm offers a luxurious stay in a beautifully restored historic forge. You’ll be greeted by the farm’s delightful hosts, Jimmy and Dean, two friendly Potbelly pigs. Beautiful cows forage right outside your door. The Forge features exposed wooden beams, brick walls, and cozy furnishings. The interior is designed with plush bedding, a fully equipped kitchen, and spacious living reminiscent of yesteryear. Breweries, wineries and famous antique stores nearby offer entertainment.

You'll love this unique and romantic escape. Come and disconnect from the world and reconnect with each other in the Treehouse at Backabit Farm.
