A few miles away there are Nature Reserves and places of historical interest. You can enjoy long walks and/or cycling further afield along the seafront. Clacton Pier is about 20 minutes walk away where you’ll also find a good choice of restaurants etc. The cottage has its own private entrance with parking. There are also regular train and bus services.

Bawdsey is also the home of radar and close to Sutton Hoo, Anglo Saxon burial site.

The Old Piggery is a 5 minute walk to the beach with incredible views looking onto the river Stour estuary.
