Surrounded by 100 year old oaks & scenic wildlife, Salt Creek Retreat is a well appointed getaway. If you want to experience world class fishing at the beach & off the dock, with all the comforts of home, then this is the place for you. We fell in love w/Sargent in 2020 & bought Salt Creek Retreat in 2022. After almost a year of renovations we are ready to share our family retreat. We love to get away & relax in this peaceful setting & love the people/atmosphere in Sargent. We know you will too!

The Cottage on China Street

Located on a quiet street surrounded by large live oaks, our cozy house is a few minutes away from a coffeeshop, Walmart, and many other restaurants and businesses. Let us make it feel like home! We offer fresh roasted coffee and a kitchen stocked with utensils, as well as a washer & dryer. Relax on a rocking chair on the back porch when you arrive and unwind! Sitting in the patio upstairs ,beach sounds and activity on ICW is a treat for your senses.Come down to enjoy BBQ fire pit and fishing on the ICW. The windows in the living area makes you feel close to the nature even from inside. The studio style interior with queen bed and 3 pull out beds is perfect for a couples retreat or a group up to 5. This is a fisherperson's, birding, and ocean lover's dream come true. The small waterfront cabin is on an elevated point overlooking beautiful Matagorda Bay and has its own private, lighted fishing pier. Redfish, Speckled Trout, Drum, crabs and other saltwater fish are abundant around the pier. Dolphins, birds and other sea creatures are everywhere. Ocean going ships navigate the ship channel. Salt air, ocean breezes, gentle waves and star filled nights are the ultimate stress reliever.

Sleep up to 6 in this beautiful, super clean, 2 BD, 2.5 BA house just ten steps from the CO River and a quick 3-min drive to Matagorda Beach. Bring your flip flops, beach towel, and favorite book to relax on one of 3 decks...or bring your fishing gear and catch large fish right off the dock. You can even clean your fish right there and grill them on the BBQ grill! Bring your boat or kayak and push off from the dock. Make great memories with the entire family in the slow-paced sea town!
