Old Homestead - Rest, Relax and Renew

Welcome to the "Old Homestead." If you are looking for a quaint and relaxing getaway, then the Old Homestead is the perfect spot. Located between Shippensburg/Carlisle areas, there is so much to see and do within driving distance. History enthusiast...you have so many places to choose from. Maybe wine is more to your liking...it's a matter of which winery do I choose first. Enjoy hiking...then nearby Michaux State Forest is the perfect place to go or the Cumberland Rails to Trails. Perhaps you prefer to just relax and enjoy dinner on the deck or sit around a firepit and enjoy the evening. Whatever your preference, be sure to enjoy your "home away from home."

Civil War Farm House w/Heated (seasonal) Pool

Welcome to this historical Civil War Farm House. This stone home built in 1861 by Christian Shriver and was actively used as a field hospital during the war. Mrs Shriver prepared General Reynolds his breakfast on the first day of the battle (which he was killed). The Durboraw's moved here in the early 1890's and have remained here on the farm ever since. Please note, pool is open seasonally mid-May through mid- Sept. Please inquire to its opening/closing if booking around these times.

Legacy Bridge Farmhouse

This cozy farmhouse was built in the 1800's and has been completely remodeled. The house is completely furnished and the large kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. The house sits on a beautiful farm property. There is a stream that runs through the property and there is a beautiful view from the back porch. It is located 10 minutes from Shippensburg and Chambersburg. It is also about 30 minutes from Gettysburg Battlefield. Whitetail, Ski Liberty Resort, and Roundtop are all within an hour.

Our Shangri La

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Our Shangri La is located above Prospect Overlook. National Geographic Magazine rated Prospect Overlook as one of the five best in the East. Views include three states: Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia; and two rivers, the Potomac and Cacapon. Our Shangri La is 3 miles from the town of quaint town of Berkeley Springs, 9 miles from the picturesque Cacapon State Park and Cacapon Resort and golf (Robert Trent Jones masterpiece).

Claire House on the Creek

Claire House is a renovated home on the banks of Middle Spring Creek. Its restored open porch and balcony over look the cool spring waters as they meander past the property and under the wooden foot bridge. An old pavilion with a rustic table and benches, along with a fire pit, sit close by. In the spring, the creek is stocked with trout for the fishing enthusiasts. Shippensburg University and the Luhrs Center are less than 2 miles away as are numerous eateries and shopping experiences.

Visit the Homestead, just a few miles off I-81 in Chambersburg. The serene landscape offers fresh air and open space. This historic home on 130 acres of farmland presents bed/bathrooms on the first and second levels and relaxing living space for all guests. Colonial Era Spring House

A unique and private mountain top colonial era spring house, with two springs flowing thru the basement. Originally the site of a tannery in the 1700s. Here you can relax, recharge, and rejuvenate. We celebrate all four seasons where you can enjoy Mother Nature's ever changing scenery at 1300' above sea level with fresh mountain air. Our area offers many things to do, or you may choose to stay in and do nothing at all.

We considered calling this house “The View With Some Rooms,” but settled on The Lodge. This private 3-bedroom house includes a rooftop dome (which serves as the third bedroom). From almost every spot, enjoy the jaw-dropping scenery of endless mountains, three states, and the Potomac River. Camp Potomac Peak was recently (Nov 2024) named the best place to stay in the Eastern Panhandle by WV Living Magazine.
