Oakchester Cottage on Bruny Island

English woman Antoinette Pignon Powle built the cottage in the 1860s, making it one of Bruny Island's oldest homes. Originally named Oakchester, it is also known to locals as Mr. Wisby's Cottage - when Antoinette made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, she asked her neighbor to look after the house. She never returned. The cottage has been restored, inside and out. Guests may enjoy the pebble beach and rock pools together with the private jetty for fishing. We have a secure fenced area adjacent to the chalet suitable for well-behaved pets.
