SUGARBIRD HOUSE EDENVELDT FARM

I have decided to rent out my personal farm house\ guest house to happy road trippers seeking solitude and a peaceful surrounding. The house is within a valley surrounded by 48 hectares of open land,beautiful mountain (cederberg) backdrops and a river with three natural swimming areas within walking distance of the guest house and the place include a 25m lap pool right in front of the veranda! Oh and plenty of clean breathable air :). There is one full sized bed so its best suited for couples.

Our unpretentious Karoo destination is a place to change gears and experience the charms of a dorper farm: open plains, rocky- & rolling hills, vivid sunsets and our own stream - sometimes even with water. Farm-trails take hikers up close and personal with Karoo nature and Karoo agriculture. At night, the clear unobstructed sky hosts Milky Way magic. The cottage has a fridge, solar geyser & power (220VAC), gas stove, indoor braai-fireplace and ¾-bed for a third person or two small children.

Leopard Cottage, Klein Pakhuis Farm

Klein Pakhuis Farm is both a Cederberg Karoo farm and a nature conservancy. It extends up the eastern slopes of the Cederberg Mountains where it shares a fence-free boundary with the protected Cederberg Wilderness Area. The farm is blessed with pure natural spring water; blue-sky days; clear starry nights and utter silence. Varied wildlife thrives under the conservancy ethos of the farm, including Verreaux's Eagle, Rheebok, Grysbok, Aardvark, Caracal, and the elusive Cape Leopard.

Carmel Villa Victorian Main House was built in 1904 as is known as "Calvinia's Monument of Love". If you do not want to experience the old fashioned charm of the B&B this fully equipped self-catering unit is just for you (not part of the main house). The garden cottage is a fully equipped self-catering unit that has 2 separate bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room, kitchenette & bathroom with shower. Ymansdam is situated next to the Tankwa Karoo National Park at the foot of the Roggeveld Mountain, about an hour's drive from Calvinia on the R355. The fully equipped self-catering cottage is ideal for 2 people. The cottage has an en-suite shower, small kitchen and as well as a veranda with a fireplace and a splash pool. Guests can also choose a unique campsite that have ablution facilities. Visit Ymansdam and taste, experience and smell the lovely Karoo.
