The Doe Branch Cabin - Modern Mountain Retreat

Sense of Place. That is the inspiration here, at least in part. The cabin is situated on 12 private acres in a remote corner of Madison County, surrounded by national forest, streams, and clear mountain air. The property has a history of artist residents, and we encourage creatives of all types to come seek the inspiration found by those that came before. The town of Marshall, an artistic enclave, is 25-30 minutes away, and downtown Asheville is a 45-50 minute drive. Hiking and rafting nearby.

Enjoy this cozy one bedroom, one bath home with a detached studio on property overlooking the roaring creek, peaceful hang out area to enjoy with your dear ones. Cabin has exposed beams in the great room, a wood burning fireplace, and hard wood flooring throughout. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the living room, spacious enough for overflow guests and children. Has a laundry area, and a fully remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower. Awaken in a luxury king size bed and slide open the garage door to sweeping views of the Smokies. Enjoy coffee on the deck. Fully furnished bed and bath, AC/Heat and kitchenette. Pets permitted $40/first pet $20/each additional pet. Area is fenced. Listen to the river while lying in the in-deck hammock. The perfect stage for a restful afternoon or night time stargazing. Imagine yourself lounging by our fire pit with a local brew or taking in the mountain views from the hot tub then creating an amazing meal. Detox in our cedar sauna after a long hike. Or if you are exploring the area then it is the perfect home base for adventures in the mountains or to Asheville for breweries, dining or shopping.

This cabin was constructed by hand in 2019 and is designed with both style and calm in mind. It is a perfect place for artists and writers to find inspiration or for guests who want to connect to nature by simply waking up with the trees. The cabin partly functions as an informal artist residency space for our friends and comrades and guest who stay will find it more as a home environment instead of a hotel. Come expecting simplicity and refreshing stay in the wooded landscape of WNC.

Spend a romantic time in the 2 person hot tub overlooking the babbling creek. Build a fire in the fire pit & grill out on the covered porch. Enjoy some Corn Hole, play in the creek, embrace nature’s sounds with a nap in the hammock, take a quiet walk, or just sit and swing the day away watching nature!
