Situated in North Cork, in the heart of Munster, within an hours drive of major cities in the south. The Cottage is only 500 metre’s, with views of the Galtee Mountains, from the beautiful ‘Famous’ Kildorrery town and a 10 minute drive from Mitchelstown (M7 Motorway). One of the many local amenities include, the Ballyhoura mountains, perfect for hikers or keen mountain bikers.

You are going to stay in our small but cozy guest house in the middle of the country site in the village of Birdhill. Its a self contained guest house with a kitchen/living room, small double bedroom and bathroom. We are conveniently located only 10 min away from M7 motorway (exit 27), and 20 min away from Limerick City. Shannon airport 40 min drive. Killaloe/ Ballina which is located only 10min drive from our house is one of the most picturesque village attractions with plenty of restaurants.

Ideal for walkers (St Declan’s Way and Glengara Woods), golf (Cahir Park Golf Club), fishing and visiting the Rock of Cashel. One hours drive from Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Kilkenny.

Villa Maria 1 Bedroom Guesthouse

Welcome to Villa Maria, a self contained 1 bedroom guesthouse in the beautiful village of Castletown, just outside of Portlaoise. The guesthouse is ajoined a private residence but has seperate entrances. The place has an open plan kitchen/dining, living room, main bathroom and utility room with washing machine and dryer for convenience. There is free parking at the premises. From artist studio to guest house, this little building is an ongoing project, with so much to offer. Sitting on higher grounds just behind the main house, it has its own garden with a view to take your breath away. It’s a bit of a rise to get there but totally worth it. If you keep climbing across small fields and a strip of forest, you’ll find yourself on Slievenamon’s mountain trails. Downhill from here lies Kilcash village, pub, church, more forestry and the ruins of an old castle
