Located between Shippensburg/Carlisle areas, there is so much to see and do within driving distance. History enthusiast...you have so many places to choose from. Maybe wine is more to your liking...it's a matter of which winery do I choose first. Enjoy hiking...then nearby Michaux State Forest is the perfect place to go or the Cumberland Rails to Trails. Perhaps you prefer to just relax and enjoy dinner on the deck or sit around a firepit and enjoy the evening. Whatever your preference, be sure to enjoy your "home away from home."

Dine in our full kitchen or walk to one of many nearby restaurants. Our fenced in backyard and seating area is a major plus. Drive 20 min to Hershey or 5 min to the Farm Show Complex.

Claire House on the Creek

Claire House is a renovated home on the banks of Middle Spring Creek. Its restored open porch and balcony over look the cool spring waters as they meander past the property and under the wooden foot bridge. An old pavilion with a rustic table and benches, along with a fire pit, sit close by. In the spring, the creek is stocked with trout for the fishing enthusiasts. Shippensburg University and the Luhrs Center are less than 2 miles away as are numerous eateries and shopping experiences.

Welcome to The Downtown Retreat! Just a few short blocks from the campus of Dickinson College and a quick stroll to historic downtown Carlisle restaurants and shopping. Visit one of the many car shows at Carlisle Fairgrounds, or tour the Army Heritage Center. A short drive to historic Gettysburg, the orchards of Adams County, and the capital city Harrisburg, and more! The Downtown Retreat offers all the amenities of home, and the ideal location to spend a couple nights close to it all!

Centrally located to shops, restaurants, US Army War College, Dickinson College, Keystone Aquatics & Fairgrounds but not walkable to these locations. Easy I81 on/off access. Minutes to the PA Turnpike. Smoking not allowed indoors but ok on the porch. Receptacle provided. Outdoor cameras for security. Host lives on property in house next door.

This quaint 1,500 square feet carriage house is on the back of a property that is home to a 19th century Victorian know as "Glass Gable". In 2000 Walt and Diana Brown purchased this property and began restoration and remodeling. The woodwork and other accommodations throughout have all been carefully selected to provide the atmosphere of an European Chalet. The Carriage House is within walking distance to downtown Carlisle and its many historic attractions.
