[City Centre] 130 years old unique historic house

Experience an unique and unforgettable Japanese traditional home at the city centre of Kawagoe where it is well known for its old clay warehouses and merchant homes, called Kurazukuri.【Kuranoyado Masuya】is the only place you can stay in a traditional clay warehouses that was built about 130 years ago and designated as Landscape Importance Building. Located at the walking distance from the most famous sightseeing spots such as Kuradukuri zone(old storehouse zone), Toki-no-kane, Hikawa Shrine etc.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

We designed our happy bungalow inspired by a traditional Red Dao (our tribe) house, featuring a sturdy wooden frame, red bricks and precious woods. Glass openings beneath the roof enhance the natural light. There's a lovely mezzanine for extra mattresses, perfect for accommodating happy kids or friends. All the furniture and decorations are handcrafted, while fairy lights create a cozy and enchanting atmosphere. Enjoy your own private bathroom right on the side too! #EnjoyHappiness 😁😁😁

A historical villa and garden full of nature

A private retreat of Japanese beauty in Arita, a town renowned for its pottery. This 130-year-old traditional villa, originally built by a founder of Arita Bank, has been renovated and is reserved exclusively for one group. Surrounded by a Japanese garden with a privately owned mountain as its backdrop, guests can enjoy seasonal scenery in tranquility. This Taisho-era house, once a shop, home, and storehouse, is now a guesthouse. We can share its history if you are interested. Some original items remain. The storehouse is now a small sake bar. We offer free sake tasting, or tea and sweets. Local people also visit on weekends. Two major shrines are within walking distance. Tsurugi and Nomachi Stations are 30 minutes apart by train. Kanazawa Station is 40–50 minutes from Tsurugi, with a transfer.
