Mountain Biking in Awenda Park, will require some previous riding experience/skills (Intermediate). We will meet at the park entrance and go over the safety equipment needed and talk about the trails in the park (hills, rocks and roots). We’ll find out the group level and start the ride at a moderate intensity and pick up the pace to make the ride challenging for everyone. We will then head down to the beach (weather dependent) for a swim and snack before calling it a day. This ride is approximately 20-30 kms and will take 120-180 minutes. I will supply Cliff Bars/Bananas and water for the ride. Bring your camera/phone as the scenery is awesome with the bluffs overlooking Georgian Bay.
Dave And Maggie
I'm Dave, I live right next to Awenda Provincial Park. It’s literally my backyard and I've had the privileged of living in the area for 30+ years. I enjoy sharing the park with like-minded people that enjoy the same activities that I use to experience this little piece of Heaven. I’m not a M.A.M.L (Middle Aged Men in Lycra), so don’t let the beard fool you! I shred the trails 3-4 days a week and cross country run the trails a couple of times a week. During the winter months I snowshoe/run and CC ski on the groomed trails. I've been mountain biking and running for the better part of 35 years and would love to share this beautiful park with others that are visiting the area. I was a certified personal trainer for 20+ years and now I work-out for the shear enjoyment and sharing my knowledge with others.
Cliff Bars, Apples or Bananas
Awenda Provincial Park is located on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay. The trails whined through the park to give you spectacular views of not only the dense forest but of the islands the dot the bay itself. Beckwith and Giants Tomb are viewed from the Bluff trail. We will take advantage of the Bluff, Brule trails. Time permitting, we will see some of the historical site and ride through the camp grounds inside the park.
