Your experience starts as we meet and I introduce you to the history of the oldest New World wine country - think 1659. During the day we go where most only dream - into the cellars of iconic estates. We visit an oak maturation cellar, learn of the process of using oak and the role it plays in the wine aging process. We taste from maturation barrels and meet wine makers. We visit a sparkling wine cellar, learn how it is made and taste different styles of bubbly including one that is an international trophy winner. We visit a winery that is a consistent winner of the South African wineries "Green Award". We pair cheese and wine with the lady winemaker whose gold medals and trophies are the stuff of legend. We wrap up the day with either a visit to a winery where the uniquely below ground octagonal shaped cellar is one of only 4 in the world, the others being Chateau Lafitte in Bourdeax, Opus One in Napa and Vergelegen in South Africa or one that has received an incredible 99/100 for its Syrah from a UK Master of Wine.
As a graduate of the Cape Wine Academy with 2 university degrees and a passion for the wines of the Cape, I will guide you on a unique indulgence of your palate through breathtaking wine country in the Stellenbosch region. I have visited and tasted wines in many of the wine producing regions and countries of the world and have also had the rare opportunity to dine in the cellar of Chateau Lafitte in Bordeaux in the company of Baron Eric de RothschiId. I have also been accorded the rare honour of hosting very successful South African wine tastings at Food and Wine Festivals in the United Kingdom. When not hosting my experience I organise and host a wine tasting forum in Cape Town.

We travel from Cape Town to historic Stellenbosch, founded in 1688 and the second oldest town in South Africa. Named after its founder Simon van der Stel it's a university town and home to 27000 students. From here we visit historic and iconic wineries. Award winning wineries which are off the tourist route and are not of the usual drive in and taste variety.
最多可供4位年滿18歲的旅人參加。 Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children.
Most restaurants in Cape Town charge a small fee on your own wine. I suggest that you schedule this experience soon after your arrival. You can then enjoy wine bought. Bring camera, sunscreen, sunhat.
