We’ll be at my peaceful studio in Fish Hoek, nestled between the Trappieskop and Silvermine Mountains with a beautiful indigenous floral kingdom on one side and a safe beach on the other. We'll start with guided drawings and mark-making using traditional and non-traditional materials. Working with natural materials, we’ll harness different processes, using a variety of mixed media to create joyful expressions of the botanical environment. There is an abundance of paint, paper, and ink to use, and a great resource of natural materials. Music will add to our creative journey. I’ll supply snacks and delicious drinks all infused with plants native to the Cape. You’ll leave feeling satisfied, with a stunning artwork to take home.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your enthusiasm. I recommend that you take an uber to my studio.

I'm an artist, teacher and curator. I believe passionately in every person's creative ability & the importance of art for one's well being. I am mostly a painter working in oils but I also enjoy printmaking when I have the time. I have a Masters degree in Fine Art and a curating degree and I believe in art as a language of communication to connect us culturally, geographically and emotionally. I love travelling and meeting people from different countries so I chose to create this experience as a unique introduction to the beauty of the Cape and would be honoured to share with you.

The natural environment surrounding this area includes Fish Hoek Beach and the Silvermine Mountains. Trappieskop Mountain is just a short walk from my home. The workshop will be held in my studio adjoining my home and lovely garden.
This experience is so much more than just a class, it’s a lifetime of Memories with art from a wonderful teacher and a beautiful house as well! Sue is such a excellent teacher and after going to many art classes, sue really tries to teach you to increase your skills and improve on what you know rather than just doing a copy of something. The hospitality that goes with this is above and beyond what I expected and is the kind of interaction people dream of when visiting a city like Cape Town! If you’re thinking about doing this class, just do it!!
