We will begin our tour on the canal in the heart of historic Lewes. From there we will head out into the protected waters of the Harbor of Refuge on the Delaware bay which has provided a safe haven for ships since it's construction after the revolutionary war. We will sail towards the point at Cape Henlopen where we will round the historic lighthouse marking the inner wall and sail back towards Lewes. Guests can expect to see dolphins, beautiful sunsets, and the historic landmarks that helped develop the surrounding areas all under sail as it was done centuries ago.
As a Lewes native I have spent my entire life in and around the surrounding waters. I have made a career on the water and have worked on boats along the East coast, Caribbean, and Mediterranean waters. I hold a master captain license with the USCG and am capable of operating sailing vessels up to 50 tons. My wife Kate will also be joining along as crew.
We will visit historic Lewes waterfront, sail past Lighthouses, and along the coast of the Delaware Bay. Be sure to keep an eye out for the many resident dolphins in the area!
