We'll meet downtown in the heart of the metropolis, either in the morning or afternoon. From there, we'll weave around the city streets to Lafitte Greenway, a beautiful bike path that takes you past playgrounds, homes and historic spots into the bayou. Next, we'll hit City Park, cycling past museums, lush oak trees, golf courses, urban farms and athletic fields and onto a path that trails the lovely water of bayou all the way to Lake Pontchartrain. Through an upscale residential community, we'll make our way to the water, a spans of sparkling blue lined with sidewalks and palm trees. Once we've covered the lakefront, we'll return the way we came, stopping either for locally roasted coffee at Hey! or a round of drinks at Wrong Iron. Both spots are right along the bike path. For those down for a slightly longer ride (an extra mile or two), we can head to Bacchanal Wines in the Bywater, a local treasure, for happy hour and jazz. The entire journey is about 24 miles, and will take two hours plus time for drinks.
I'm an avid biker, who loves to be outdoors and explore the community and city. I've lived in six different places, enjoy local culture and food, and am always looking for new ways to embrace the world around me. Currently, I work in education after venturing over from the entertainment industry. I'm a professor, digital director and storyteller. I commute by bike, and spend most of my weekends on wheels. I've found the beautiful, real and untapped luster of New Orleans from the seat of my cycle and think it's the best way to see the city. I'm also a foodie and wine connoisseur and aim to incorporate NOLA treats into the journey.
I'll bring nuts and granola bars for the ride.
Depending on time of day and interest, a round of coffee or drinks will be on me!

We'll be biking at 10-12 mph, it won't be terribly grueling but you should be prepared to keep a decent pace. It's better to go in the morning for weather, but we can set a time based on your schedule. Dates during the week availably by request. There are bike shops for rentals I can recommend.
