After a quick safety briefing and a welcome glass of cava, we will depart from Marina del Este and hoist the sails. The prevailing winds are usually westerlies (poniente) or easterlies (levante) and so we will literally go where the wind takes us for an hour or so. With twin 30HP Yanmar engines, if the wind fails us, we will motor-sail. After an hour to an hour and a half sailing the beautiful coastline, we will find a sheltered spot (there are so many along this coastline!) to drop the anchor for a swim or a snorkel (masks and snorkels provided). We also have a kayak and two SUP paddleboards for you to try out if you wish. Lucy, my partner, will be rustling up a delicious buffet lunch whilst we are having some fun in the water, with something for everyone, and a variety of dietary requirements catered for. After lunch, we will start to head back towards the marina, and hopefully spot some dolphins on the way. Our catamaran, a Lagoon 380, is very spacious, stable, and safe, and boasts a great trampoline at the front of the boat between the hulls which the dolphins just love to swim underneath, giving us the perfect view of these wonderful creatures completely in their natural habitat. Oh yes, and I almost forgot to mention, all drinks on board (cava, beer, wines, soft drinks, water) are included too!! A totally unique experience, and one which you will NEVER forget.
I have been sailing in the beautiful waters of the Costa Tropical for almost 20 years, and for the last 5 years on board my Lagoon 380 Catamaran. These clear waters boast an abundance of wildlife, with dolphins, sunfish, tuna, and even turtles spotted regularly, and all against the dramatic backdrop of the stunning mountainous coastline with the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains towering in the background. I love sharing all this with my guests, and with more than 15,000 sailing miles behind me, I am happy to pass on sailing tips, or let them take the helm if they want to. As a passionate winemaker too, there is usually some of my organic red wine on board to taste, and what better setting could there be to taste it in?
