We will taste 05 different local craft beers, 01 traditional beer and the beer of the Incas, called chicha. We will pair those beers with peruvian dishes made with native ingredients. This is all an amazing, real and private local experience where you will discover new beers made with peruvian ingredients, you will taste some Peruvian dishes and their ingredients (like native potato, chili pepper sauce, quinoa, purple corn and more). You will get to know a little bit about our ancient history through our food and beverages that the first Peruvians (even before the Incas) already used on a daily basis. Our experience is designed to enjoy and maximize the taste of beers and food. This is our detailed itinerary for you: Taste one beer, talk about its color, flavor and aroma. Taste it again and pair it with a Peruvian dish. Taste how good it works and write it down. Look and taste some of the main ingredients the dish is made of. Beers: Pilsner, Draft ale, Pale ale, Golden ale, Corn ale, Irish stout and chicha (corn Inca beer) Food: fried dry corn, humitas (tender corn tamales), quinoa salad, native potatoes and different chili sauces, causa (mashed yellow potatoes with lemon juice and yellow chili) and mazamorra (purple corn dessert).
We are Jean-Pierre and Kike, cousins and roommates. Jean-Pierre: my dad has been brewing for more than 40 years. We both founded one of the first local craft beer brands, named Amarilis, that you will find in many amazing restaurants all around Peru. Kike: I learned to cook mainly from my family (home style) and I would love to share with you the unending flavors of traditional Peruvian food. We will use real Peruvian native ingredients and we will tell you a little bit about our ancient history in its binding relationship with food. As good Peruvians, we believe in the true spirit of cuisine: the exchange of flavors, experiences and cultures.
We will hold this experience in our place, a cozy apartment located in the very heart of Miraflores, very close to the ocean area where you can see the city. This will be a small private session for your convenience.
Try not to eat or drink too much before our experience so you can enjoy it the most. This will be two hours where we will taste small pieces of food and beers, but there are 06 pairing options, so we promise you will get more than satisfied :)
