You will be greeted at my home and 2+ acre tropical garden, where after a breif introduction and orientation, we will be walking over anchient lava flows, with interesting shapes and wrinkles, from plant to plant to hear about the plant name, it's usage in Hawaiian culture, products made from the plant, and some of its interesting properties! We will be visiting wild areas, volunteer garden areas, food areas, tropical trees, ferns, and flowers, a Taro patch, a small lilly pond, and more. You may touch the plants, smell them, and in some cases taste them! The terrain is generally level and cindered for easy walking. I will also explain the sustainable house and its water catchment and solar panels. The walk is on rain or shine. Please be prpared for rain as it often does here, mostly at night. You might see the Guinea Hens, pheasants, or Hana-chan the rabbit wandering around.
