We will meet at my place, then we have a steady cycle up to the town and take in some local history; such as the statues of Blind Jack and Old Mother Shipton and Ye Olde Chymist Shoppe (England's oldest chemist shop - circa 1720), slowly cycle around the market place, the castle grounds (circa date 1100) and look down over the riverside view. From here we will cycle down some tracks to the riverside and absorb landmarks such as St Robert's Cave (local hermit's cave) (circa 1180). We will pass local creative sculptures in the woodland and then onto look at Our Chapel Of The Lady Of The Crag (circa 1500) - we can not enter the chapel, but can take a look. Then a gentle roll down the riverside pointing out some local info of Guy Fawkes, Mother Shipton and other curiosities. From here we do a quick, steep ascent up the Beryl Burton's cycleway (named after the domineering English cyclist), then a very gentle, but fast roll back down to Knaresborough and on to a local off-road Mtb route designed to take in some beautiful local villages and hamlets, then we end up back at my place.

As a long-standing Airbnb 'superhost', I know what guests enjoy. As a local mountain biking enthusiast I have cycled many of the off-road routes in our areas over the last 20 years; carving out some unique routes, be it a 1 hour short blast, local tourist (yet still quite secretive) routes taking in the landmarks in a unique way, or long 5/6 hr 100km mega routes. I am known for being quite particular in my map reading, however I have spent a good 10 years purposely getting lost on my bike, and enjoying it, but due to this, I have linked together the best segments and loops for your enjoyment. Much of it still quite secretive too! I'm very proud of Knaresborough's unique heritage and medieval history and would love to share it with you.
I will provide snacks to suit, for example homemade cookies, or a local pork pie or pastry.
I provide drinks to suit, for example water, soft drinks and also tea or coffee.
I have spare helmets, gloves, jackets. You should have your own bike, but I have access to bike hire; please ask if needed.
