Join me in my grandma's neighbourhood as we discover places the locals savour. These unique food joints are overlooked by the shoppers. We'll start at a Chaats place that is famous for it's colourless Paani and the crunchiest Puri. We'll beeline to a Jilebi store next, to put out the fires in our mouths. This is followed with a lip-smacking butter Dosa joint, and/or some soft piping hot Idlies. We'll walk through the alleys and by-lanes of Commercial Street to quench our thirst with some sweet and cold Badam milk. Some Dumroot and Pakoda is in order next. We'll end our evening with some Lassi, and a full tummy. Along with these, we'll also try to get some seasonal delicacies.
Born and brought up in Bangalore, I remember exploring these streets, sniffing out places to eat at, ever since I was a kid. My love for cooking, and the passion for food turned me into a food photographer. I have covered various restaurants and eateries in and around Karnataka like the ITC chain, The Taj, and JW Marriott. But the food I enjoy the most is the food my locals eat in the streets of my Grandma's neighbourhood. I will take you to these place, and more on our journey in the streets.
We'll be eating a range of things - starting from snacks, multiple rounds of desserts, and some heavy meal-like courses…
Badam milk and Lassi are milk based drinks that's best served cold. Both are rich and will appeal your sweet-tooth.
Commercial street is the shopping district of Bangalore. Discover the food scene that thrives in the shadows of this market with me. I'll take you to the places the non-shoppers go to, and we'll savour everything that's local and fresh.

The food is hygienic, and on the spicier side - please carry enough water. We'll be walking in crowded uneven streets - please wear comfortable shoes. This is after-all, the shopping district of Bangalore - carry bags if you want to buy anything to take home. :)
