This exciting glass blowing experience will involve melting borocilicate glass tubes and rods to make pendants and functional items! This experience is suitable for complete beginners or anyone with some previous experience. First, I will run you through all the necessary health and safety information you need to know before melting any glass! To begin with, I will demonstrate a few different jewelry making and blowing techniques along the way I will walk you through the prosses by describing the techniques I'm using. Then once you're confident that you know how to get started you can get melting! From this experience you will come away with at least one pendant to take home - a beautiful keepsake reminder of your time in the Lake District.
My name is James Stewardson I have been blowing glass since 2010, driven by a fascination of gravitys effect on molten glass! I began working on jewellery designs and started a market stall in Hawkshead selling Jewellery and ornaments, whilst also trading at various music festivals around the uk. In 2016 I started a shop called "Handmade in Hawkshead" selling handmade items from around the local area. More recently, I taught classes and gave demonstrations at "The Flame Off" one of Europe's biggest glass events, and I have also been taking part in some functional glass art competitions.
You will have access to a stocked fridge of drinks for the duration of your workshop.

This exciting glass blowing experience will take place at my studio on a private estate just outside the beautiful village of Hawkshead in the Lake District.
