See our famous Duck Parade and take a duck tour where you will learn more about our Indian Runner Ducks and their fascinating role in the vineyards at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate.
Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, known for its red wines. The role of nature in the sustainability of wine production has always been respected at the farm. Breeding of a small flock of ducks started in the late 1980's as a form of natural pest control in the vegetable gardens. Today, a 1000-strong flock of Indian Runner Ducks keep our vineyards free of snails and pests. The Parade of Ducks (walking to and from the vineyards) has become a major public attraction at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate.
Your experience at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate begins with a tour of the duck pens and hatchery, followed by our famous Duck Parade in the Manor House werf. We will then take you to the wine blending room in our historic Manor House, built in 1773.
