November is the season to pick olives. You can only do this once a year. We will be picking olives on Saturday, November 23. We will learn how you can press them for oil, or brine them for whole-consumption. After the harvest, we will take the olives to the mill to be pressed and tour the mill. You will receive in the mail a small bottle of the oil from the olives you picked. We can provide seasonally available organic fruit from our trees. But we ask you to bring your own food and some extra to share with others. It is a real privilege to experience our land. Golden Cup is a permaculture paradise, a stunning example of 12 years of ecological design principles. It extends over 80 acres of diverse forests. Being remote, we enjoy pristine air and abundant pure water flowing from year-round artesian springs. We are designed to be self-sustainable year-round, our orchards house more than 100 different varieties of fruits, nuts, olives, and medicinal trees. We will be harvesting the olives in this beautiful environment.
I learned to grow tropical food in my first years of life in Mexico. In Spain, I learned Mediterranean agriculture. Then Kim, my husband's mom, introduced me to methods of farming in Asia. Some years later I studied Biodynamic gardening at the Rudolf Steiner College. So by the time I started farming, I was filled with ideas, cuttings, expectations, and memories from all over the world. Developing our homestead lead me to the study of permaculture and sustainability. Today we run a permaculture homestead in a beautiful forest in Northern California. A homestead is different from a farm in that it grows a wide variety of produce for a family, where a farm is optimized for yield and profit. We are designed to be sustainable, with orchards containing over 250 mature fruit, nut, olive, exotic trees, medicinals, tropicals, and multiple gardens

The beautiful journey to us is itself an experience. Please follow careful instructions below. Once on the farm, we will walk/hike through the orchards to the olive gardens. This will complete the experience.
