Gaudí a.k.a Barcelona’s superstar. What would the city be without him and what would be Gaudí without Barcelona? During our experience you will get to know both the human and the professional side of this famed genius. We will show and describe his most famous, but also his lesser known works (7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites!). We will explain what was Gaudí ’s inspiration and what were his techniques. We also point out how the Catalan history and legends are reflected in his works. Furthermore, we will also talk about the modernist architecture in general and its other representatives. Yes, Barcelona had also other architects than Gaudí! In these 2,5 hours you will discover details you have not noticed before – from lamp posts over street pavement to dragons. You will get to understand Gaudí’s symbology and discover the meaning behind the Sagrada Familia’s eighteen towers and the three different facades and the countless sculptures. Have you ever wondered why the construction of the church is taking so long? All these questions have their answers that we would like to reveal to you! Our groups are small so that we can easily discuss the topics that might emerge during the tour on a more personal level. Please note that there are no entrance tickets included in this tour, but we are happy to help you to organize them. Check also our other experiences!
Simona & Nadim
This is us, Simona and Nadim, an international couple who met in this wonderful city of Barcelona. We both chose this to be our home a decade ago. But where are our origins? We will let you guess it on our tour :) We are both language lovers and that means that between the two of us, 7 languages are spoken. And where you can find us when we are not touring around the city? We both share a passion for travelling and discovering of new cultures. Counted together we visited more than 70 countries. While travelling, we are especially attracted by mountains. Peaks and summits is a thing we can’t live without. We also love to travel through the cuisine of different places. Last but not least, we love to read books. After all, reading is also a way of travelling – inwards.
The ticket for metro/bus are included.
We begin in the old town where Gaudí's career started and continue then in the district of Eixample where he proved all his creativity and potential. We will finish the walk at the most visited monument in Spain - Sagrada Familia – where we learn all its secrets and details about its construction throughout the history. We will also offer you information about other Gaudí’s works in and around Barcelona.
