An exclusive (4 person max) cultural experience that includes access via UTV then a moderate hike with Kimo, your Native Hawaiian host. Experience Hualālai mountain craters as few ever have!
High above Kona, hidden in the clouds, lies this unique place. Come journey through craters, drylands forest, and historic lava flows amongst native birds and plants. This is not a tour, it's a cultural educational experience in this Sacred Place on private lands not open to the public.
You will have the opportunity to support the reforestation of Hualalai back by planting a Native Hawaiian tree. An experience to be cherished forever.

The weather is unpredictable here so be prepared for both hot and cold weather. The fog and clouds may come in at any moment, but, the magic of walking in the clouds is surreal.

體驗地點
We will be high above Kailua-Kona on top of Hualalai Mountain at the 7,000 ft elevation. We will meet at the top of Kaloko Drive. Then we'll take a UTV ride through the forests and hike along trail to craters. The hike will be about 45 minutes each way to a cluster of breathtaking craters. We will then head down the mountain to a rustic cabin and stewardship site to have local lunch and plant a native tree. Inquire for days other than Sun/Wed!

Really great tour. We had a lot of fun on the hike and it was a fun ATV ride that was surprisingly smooth, given how brutal the terrain was. Very cool tour guide who knew a lot and had some memorable personal stories to tell about the mountain. Loved the tree planting as a bonus personal connection to this special mountain. Great tour overall and would highly recommend.

We had a fabulous UTV ride and hike with Kimo. He is local, kind and knowledgeable. His passionate stewardship for the koa on the mountain was infectious. We saw many plants and a few animals (both long dead and living) that we’d never seen before. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing experience for anyone interested in the area history, geology, natural sciences, or nature! My teens loved it and they are not that into hiking. Kimo was a great story teller and engaged us all in a number of fun facts about the volcano. We loved it!

Wow. This was a once in a lifetime kind of vacation experience. I feel so honored to have been able to experience the mountain this way. The history, the natural beauty and education make this such a remarkable adventure. If you love learning and being outside, this is a great trip for you!!

-Kimo was very knowledgeable about Hawaii''s history and the origin of the land. He started off with a short orientation and asked for a permission or consent for the tour. I had a safe and nice ride in ATV, while he was driving, he was telling me short stories and background of the land. In between the rides, he showed me a big tree, in which it what will it become, for the tree plant we did at the end of our tour. It helped me visualize the goal of our tree plant and what a beautiful tree it will become.
-Hiking Trail: it was an easy hike, more of a walking, and not much elevation and very safe.
-View: stunning, I was above the clouds, and yet I was able to see the Maui island from there and the sea and other parts of Kona. It was breathtaking. I've been to Hilo Volcano National Park and this view is unique from Hilo's. You have it all to yourself/ to your group. Multiple Volcano Crates, unique stone formations that some are similar to Zion.
-Cultural Experience: Unique stories, history and a real Hawaiian experience.
-Trees/Flowers: I also learned different native trees that are growing around the area as well as native flowers that are unique from other states. He is very knowledgeable regarding Botany.
