As a lifelong Sydneysider and Taiwanese-Australian, I know the best spots to eat in Sydney’s iconic Chinatown and I'll be sharing some of my favourites with you. Leave the itinerary and ordering up to me as we walk and visit at least 4 places that Sydneysiders are crazy about - so make sure you're ready to eat! There will also be plenty of history and storytelling along the way as we delve into one of the cultural heartlands of this great city, touching on the "old" and "new" aspects of Sydney's Chinatown. The eating list could include Sydney's best ramen, a trip to the streets of Kuala Lumpur with chicken satay and roti, an iconic food court that Sydney's best chefs rave about and the crispiest chicken you'll ever try. Hungry yet?
I've been a Sydneysider for most of my life and am absolutely crazy about food. I truly believe Sydney is the best food city in the world - if there's a cuisine you want, then we've got it. I've seen Chinatown change a lot over the years, from its Cantonese heyday to Korean fried chicken, mainland Chinese influence and the current milk tea phenomenon. Come with me to explore the best hidden spots! Ask me about anything in the Sydney food scene and follow me on IG for some tasty snaps @kevincheng.
