Ride several km through Puerto Varas to reach bike route to Llanquihue. The bike route is a combination of trails and dirt, gravel, and paved roads. Fantastic views of the lake and volcanoes during the ride. The route is very quiet and peaceful passing through secluded residential areas along the coast. In Llanquihue, we will cross the Maullin river and ride by historical buildings before arriving at the wetlands in the middle of town. We will have the opportunity to appreciate different type of birds such as the Chimango caracara, Southern lapwing, Black faced ibises, and Brown hooded gulls. On the return to Puerto Varas, we will visit a local brewery to taste its crafted beer. The round-trip ride is 25 km with very little elevation gain. Flexible timing, able to cater to your schedule.

First stop is at Philippi Park which is dedicated to the man who first brought Germans to the area. The first part of the bike trail to Llanquihue is along the train tracks of the old railroad that is no longer in service. Llanquihue has a complex water system, consisting of a lake border, the source of the Maullín River and a system of freshwater urban wetlands.
