體驗簡介
This experience starts at my cafe, d:matcha Cafe&Kitchen. We will serve a welcome drink with an overview explanation of Japanese green tea and its process. We’ll then head to the Sencha factory on foot, which is only five minutes away. Along the path, we see a beautiful scenery of rice paddy and tea farms. I will explain the process of tea farming, harvesting, maintaining tea fields, as well as the history of Wazuka and tea.
The Sencha processing factory is a traditional building made of wood and clay. In the factory, I will go through each machine and describe the production process including steaming, rolling, and drying. The guests can explore the input (such as tea leaves) and the output (such as steamed leaves) of each machine. Note that all machines are stopped for safety.
At the end, we will operate the roaster machine to produce delightfully aromatic Houjicha (roasted green tea). After we go back to the cafe, guests can taste the freshly roasted Houjicha. At the end, guests can take one bag of Houjicha as a souvenir.
Other things to note
Bring your camera, sunscreen, and cash/ credit card for additional purchases. You can enjoy food, and desserts in our green tea concept d:matcha Café & Kitchen.

I am an agronomist who used to work in the corporate world. After quitting my job and finishing grad school, I followed my passion for green tea and its cultural heritage, and founded a green tea company, which I run with my wife, brother and our extended family. I very much enjoy helping travelers from all over the world to discover the lasting tradition of Japanese green tea, while exploring the beautiful lands of Wazuka, its mountains, woods, rivers and awe-inspiring tea plantations. Let me show you the tea farms and how we produce and enjoy the finest grades of green tea.
