If you enjoy drinking coffee, unique coffee shops, trying different kinds of it and want to know more about what is a traditional coffee, 2nd and 3rd wave of coffee, this tour is for you. Hop on a ferry to another continent and a completely different part of Istanbul, center of local life and coffee shops, the Asia side, Kadiköy. We'll meet in the heart of Kadıköy, and walk into the boutique coffee shop neighbourhood of Kadıköy. At first, we will drink a cup of traditional Turkish coffee, will see how it's been made. Then we will visit a traditional coffee&game house, "Kahvehane" where only old Turkish men go, drink Turkish tea and play local games eachother. After we join them and learn about the history of it, we will visit some other famous local boutique coffee shops. There, we will taste crazy types of 2nd and 3rd wave of coffees, will see how they are made. (really interesting recipes of coffee!) Also, we will visit some themed coffee shops; a shop influenced from a famous TV show, a cafe themed in Cuba style and a store of Chocolate Factory of Charlie. In total, we will visit 5-6 local boutique coffee shops and try coffee as much as you wish. During the tour, you will also see the best town to live in Istanbul. Please ask me the TOUR TIME YOU WISH.
I’m a photography, history and coffee buff and design my tours to highlight all of these passions. I love coffee, not only the beautiful smell of the grounded beans, also the history, science and culture of it, compare to traditional and new ways to brew and serve it. If you enjoy drinking coffee, trying different types of it and want to know more about what is coffee, (just like I do) this tour is for you. I live in Kadıköy Moda, the center of local life and coffee shops in Istanbul. And this tour is also in the same area. So I do the tour in my neighbourhood and take people to these local coffee shops me and my friends go regularly.
