It is a trekking itinerary to explore the west side of Mount Etna, off the beaten track. We will reach some of Mount Etna’s lateral cones called Monti de Fiore, which in 1974 erupted for 35 days, with particularly explosive phenomena. Once we will reach the top of these extinct craters, we will be rewarded by a stonning view of the summit craters, the river Simeto valley, the Nebrodi Mountains and other lateral craters. Salvo grew up on Mount Etna, the volcano is his home. He speaks Italian and English and what he enjoy the most is trekking and he loves taking long walks into nature, that is also why he knows well all the trails in Sicily. He loves the mountain but the sea too, in fact Salvo is also a diving guide, for many years he was recover archeological finds under water. Moreover his experience as a rock-climber showed him how fragile the natural environment is, absolutely to preserve. Salvo also enjoys the goods of his land, for this reason he tries to promote the local specialties, foods and wines, and the Sicilian traditions related to them.
We will be surrounded by centuries old woods, on the west slope of Mount Etna, to reach the top of some extinct craters.
