Attention! You get right to your skyline view boot camp workout. First we will have quick meet and greets and take care of admin requirements (waivers, restroom locations) (2 min). Next we will conduct dynamic warmups to get our joints loosened up and blood flowing (5 minutes). Next we get to it! Body weight exercises..low tech boot camp style. Expect repetitions and rounds of pushups, sit-ups, 8 count bodybuilders, flutter kicks, leg raisers, squats, lunges, and various other bootcamp type exercises. (15 min continuous movement, no breaks) Next we take a quick rest and recovery to allow for restroom use and preparation for our next phase of training the 1.5 mile run (2 minutes). Off we go! We will be conducting a 1.5 mile at best individual pace. The run will be on sidewalk and facing traffic on park road. Pace yourself! The terrain is rolling and has a challenging heartbreak ridge section just before the finish.(15 min) Almost done! Next we will conduct a cool down/stretch and bask in our accomplishments for the day (10 minutes). Finally we end with goodbyes and good jobs as boot camp ends (2 minutes). Dismissed!
I was the physical training (PT) leader/coordinator for my units while I was in military service. This position required me to schedule and lead PT. The program I ran focused on building and maintaining basic military fitness, building unit and team camaraderie and enhancing espirit de corp. I performed this job while stationed both in America and overseas (South Korea, Middle East). The PT program was an all weather any terrain program which gave the the participants the confidence to to be able to deal with anything/obstacles as they progressed through their military service and life.
Dorothea Dix Urban Park City of Raleigh. Dorothea Dix was the former home to NC's first psychiatric hospital and is now being transitioned into a city park. We will be working out in a field with fantastic views of the growing Raleigh skyline (good for photos) and near the cemetery for the psychiatric hospital which dates back to 1856! There are numerous monuments marking the site as well as wall of remembrance for the people buried there.
