I will meet you in Güéjar Sierra at Plaza Mayor, you can arrive by car or by bus from Granada both ways will provide you with spectacular views of the water reservoir - Embalse de Canales on your way up to Güéjar Sierra (Elevation 1000m). We start the walk with exploring a little of the old town with its pretty and narrow streets that give you that “Spanish” feel. Walking through and out of the town we'll follow the road that will take us above the town where we will enjoy the spectacular views. We'll see the three main picks of Sierra Nevada. We than descent to start the walk on the old tram route (there use to be a tram that connected Granada and Sierra Nevada). The walk is fairly easy. It is an interesting route, with loads of variations in the landscape, tunnels, bridges, views of the mountains and the Canales Reservoir, accompanied all along the way by the pleasant sound of the river Genil and the birdsong. The tram stops have been converted to bars and restaurants which makes this walk so much more pleasant as after walking for about an hour we will stop for a drink and tapas (1 drink included in the price) at the picturesque place that have a natural swimming pool at its foot where we can sit down and relax enjoying the sound of the running water.

I feel privileged to live in such beautiful surroundings and I cannot wait to share them with you.
At the restaurant I will provide one drink (beer or wine or water or soft drink or coffee or tea) per guest. The drinks…
At more than 1000 meters of altitude, on the northwest slope of Sierra Nevada Natural Park, you find the typical mountain white washed village of Güéjar Sierra with cobbled narrow streets and the spectacular Canales Reservoir at its feet. It was the Moors who settled the village after their conquest of Spain in 711. The tram line was built between 1925-1944 and part of it has been reconstructed in 2015, it runs along picturesque river Genil.
