You will be welcomed in to my kitchen to master Puerto Rican signature dishes like Mofongo and Flan also the base of our cuisine the Puerto Rican sofrito. You will be greeted with wine and traditional appetizers as the class starts. The second part of the class is a three course tasting menu, that will showcase our Puerto Rican hospitality at its best. If you have any dietary restrictions let us know on your booking and we’ll more than happy to make the changes needed. By the end of this class you will experience the best Puerto Rican Cuisine in town and also bringing back some knowledge about my cuisine and culture.
My name is Roberto Castro Robles, born and raised in Luquillo PR a east coast small beach town. I love Puerto Rican cuisine because of the mixture of culture (African, Spanish and Taino)and diversity of produce. What I also like is how food brings us together, you don’t have to be part of my family to eat at my table and we welcome you like part of it. With that being said my mission is to share how amazing the Puerto Rican cuisine and culture is to everyone I can and hopefully one day the whole world get to know my cuisine and culture. I’m the Sous Chef at 1921 Restaurant a locals favorite in Mount Dora Florida. Prior to that I work at the best places in Puerto Rico and also worked at Michelin star restaurant in New York. I’m really passionate about my cuisine and I will show you how to cook some of the Puerto Rican signature dishes.
