We will walk together in amazing woods just few steps from Como downtown, but nearly unknown to the tourists and also to a lot of people that live here. During the walk, on trails between Italy and Switzerland, we will tell you romantic and adventurous stories of the smugglers that for centuries have brought goods from one side of the border to the other, pursued by border patrol of the two countries. These are the stories of epic deeds that our families told us since we were children. Walking among these very beautiful landscapes, with breathtaking views of the city and Lake Como, we will show you the places where pursuits and small battles took stage and we will narrate you the heroic stories, between history and legend, of the most popular local smugglers. We will also tell you the adventurous and dramatic gestures of men and soldiers that built and lived in the trenches and fortifications along the border. Absorbed in a marvelous nature you will discover secret passages along the border, old abandoned barracks, foxholes, hideaways and adventurous paths suspended among the two countries.

You can arrive in Chiasso or in Como in 30mins by train; contact us, we will give you all the info to reach the meeting point. Trekking shoes, rain jacket, a bottle of water are strongly recommended.

We grew up on Lake Como and we are madly in love with our territory. We are working on a project about little known beauties on the lake where we propose to tourists and locals slow tours in our territory. We will introduce you to the paths we have traveled since we were children and where we seek refuge whenever we need relax, nature, beauty. It excites us to let you discover the places where the adventures of the smugglers, the heroes of our childhood, took place. Our activity has increased day by day and now it involves also Christian, Sara and Fiamma who share our values and purposes.

Trains every 30 min from Milan to Como and Chiasso.We will leave Como to dip ourselves in the woods on the hills that surround the city.We will cross some paths that are on the border with Switzerland, where adventures of smugglers took stage. Hiking around the national park nearby Como was such a cool activity! Daniele told us a lot of interesting stories belonging to the places we passed, which we would not have known without this trip. Daniele was a super guide, he met us in the morning and led us up the trail, taking moments to explain the context of the region - and telling us stories that he had been told by the grandparents. It was great to hear and be immersed in local stories with legendary characters from the past. On top of that Daniele is a lovely personable guy with a great sense of humour. We had a lovely day together!

This was the perfect AirBnb experience where you go to somewhere you know nothing about and let a local person guide you around and discover all kinds of amazing things you could never do on your own with spectacular hospitality. Hiked to the top of the mountain, drank spring water from the ground, watched birds, was fed an amazing lunch under the Italian sunshine... what else can you ask for? 🥰
