Provence has a unique and different territory with a multitude of landscapes and it offers a wide choice of wines. The history of the region is closely related to the cultivation of the vine as first vineyards were planted by the Phocean Greeks in late 7BC ! We will go to visit wine domains, villages, forest and mountains with a great landscape view. During this journey we will go in the heart of Provence passing by little roads with amazing views. You will be able to admire the panorama and the vegetation of the region. We will stop in little authentic villages and discover their history. Our objective is to show you the unknown Provence and places out of the classical touristic tours. Then, we will stop in vineyards and will be able to taste some of their wines to discover the richness of the wines of Provence. We will share with you our knowledge about the vine growing, the specificities of the terroir of Provence and the winery process walking through the vineyards. We will stop at least in two vineyards to show you different types of estates. We have chosen the vineyards depending on the quality of their wine, their authenticity and their location after travelling the region many times. In our experience you will be able to ask us to stop whenever you want to take pictures, take a break or ask for more information.
In our tour / experience you will be guided by Daniele and Florie. We speak English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. We will do our best to provide you a great experience, sharing hospitality, cordiality and joy of life of our region. Our objective is to provide a real connection between local history, culture and wine. Daniele: I have been working with different winemakers in Europe. I'm graduated WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). I love to discover new wine routes different from the usual ones. I believe in wine as emotion. Florie: I was born in a vineyard in Provence and love my region. I am now a history teacher, and I am doing a PhD on the history of the terroir of Marseille. I have an experience as guide and love to share histories of places.
Leaving Marseille, we will go to visit wine domains, villages and you will have a great landscape view including forest, hills and mountains in the heart of Provence. After 30 minutes drive outside of Marseille, we will reach the first village and the first vineyard. Then, the chosen places will all be located in the charming "Provence verte".
