After being introduced to your friendly horse we will mount our trusty steeds and depart from our farm at the foot of the Hawequa mountain following mountain tracks and strolling through vineyards relaxing and taking in the beauty of fynbos and mountains all around. We can stop for wine tasting on the way or just take in the scenery and listen to the birds. Horse riding is a very relaxing way to enjoy your natural surroundings and you might even spot small antelope, caracal or baboons. The rides offer spectacular views over the valley down below and the surrounding mountains.
Horses and riding is my passion and I have been a trail guide for 8 years. I am happiest when riding out into the mountains and sharing this experience with people who otherwise would not have the opportunity to reach these beautiful spots off the beaten track. I have been riding from a young age and have always been mesmerized by horses. These beautiful creatures are so powerful and strong yet they allow us to sit on their backs and they are willing to carry us where we ask them to go. It’s something that has always fascinated me and I have a deep respect for that. I have been riding for 40 years and have ridden in different disciplines from jumping to dressage and showing. I have backed young horses and exercised polo ponies. I have done trail riding on various horse breeds over different terrain through all paces.
