This experience is for those who don't want the standard Hollywood tour. Instead of celebrities, we focus on history and culture, and also on film as an industry and an artform. We do this by visiting Hollywood's best sites (including well-known, obscure, and off-the-beaten-path destinations), telling their stories, and talking all about Hollywood history, filmmaking, and movies. Our tour goes over: - Why the industry is in LA and not where it started (in NYC) - How the first movie palaces were created and what happened to the original after decades of neglect - The creation, rebuilding, and preservation of the Hollywood sign - Why Marilyn Monroe haunts Hollywood's oldest hotel and how Quentin Tarantino paid tribute to the city's oldest restaurant - How studio executives inadvertently turned a Writer's Guild neighbor into one of the most storied businesses in the US - How key films like Psycho, Birth of a Nation, and Bonnie and Clyde shaped filmmaking into what it is today - How Hollywood transitioned from classic to modern filmmaking, how and why certain movies get made, and where the industry is headed next Nowhere is there more film history than Hollywood, and nowhere is filmmaking more significant than LA. So if you love movies and want to learn all all about them, this is the tour to take! No tour scheduled when you're in town? Message me and we'll see what we can do!
Inna & Gabe
I am an LA native who works in the film industry. I have worked on numerous indie and studio films, music videos, comedy specials, and web-series, as well as commercials for Facebook, Hulu, T-Mobile, and more. My films have played at festivals across the United States, including in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlantic City, and I also have a YouTube channel with 19,000+ subscribers. I love Hollywood and everything it has to offer, particularly its art, history, and culture. I've been told I have an encyclopedic knowledge on film, but I just think it's so fascinating and love sharing all the stories.
