You will experience the best of Bruges on this three-in-one walking tour. We will meet at the main square in the morning, and head first to a top-rated chocolatier, where you’ll learn about Belgian chocolate-making traditions and will do some sampling. Then, continue on a history-themed walking tour of the city’s UNESCO-listed, medieval center. Finally, venture to the most romantic brewery in town, Bourgogne de Flandres, for a tour and beer tasting.
In 2011 i finished my studies biochemistry-brewery. Working in a brewery seemed like a lonely job so i thought it would be nicer to do something more social with beer. Next to that i grew up in a chocolateshop, which my parents (luckily for my bodyweight) stopped when i was 15 years old. But the process of making chocolate is (obvious) stuck in my children's memory. Another thing that is stuck in my children's memory are old historical stories. When i was 11, I had a teacher who would end his class every day by telling an old story or legend about Bruges. I was so fascinated by these stories that I kept on telling them for years to anyone willing to listen. Now i combine that with (finally) using my knowledge from my bachelor studies and with my love for chocolate :)
Some chocolate tastings.
A brewed beer at the brewery Bourgogne des Flandres.
A chocolate demostration and a visit in the brewery Bourgogne des Flandres.
Our first stop will be at the oldest chocolate shop in town, Depla Chocolate Shop, where I will show you the fine art of praline making and offer you some tastings. Loaded up on sugar we continue our historical walk around Bruges and round off the tour with a freshly brewed beer and a visit of the most romantic brewery in town: Bourgogne des Flandres.
