I'll greet you at the bar's entrance with a smile and give you time to use the facilities, look around, and settle in before starting the event. My gift for vivid storytelling has enhanced the museum experiences of thousands of travelers throughout the years. You will learn what the Renaissance was all about, thus deepening your appreciation for Florentine art and history. In this experience, I will share two of my Tuscan passions with you: wine and the Medici. We will enjoy the "Blood of Jupiter" (Sangiovese) as I recount some of the historical stories that inspired SABINA and ALLEGRA. Not a red wine lover? I'll provide you with a glass of local white wine. This experience will take place in one of my favorite trendy neighborhood bars in which I often hang out. Located in the Oltrarno, it brims with quirky charm and medieval history. You will have exclusive access to a local expert for at least an hour, so take notes and ask questions. In addition, I'm happy to recommend historic sites, fun tours, and great local eateries. Don't forget to bring your map. Finally, each participant will receive a signed copy of a C. De Melo novel as a gift to make your trip to Italy truly memorable. I'm thrilled to sign any copies you may have with you too. This experience is NOT suitable for babies or young children.
After graduating from UMASS Dartmouth with a degree in Art History, I coordinated educational programs throughout Italy for an American University. I eventually settled in Florence to work as a professional museum guide (Accademia & Uffizi). Years of researching the Medici family inspired me to self-publish "SABINA: A Novel Set in the Italian Renaissance," featuring Lorenzo de' Medici. This book hit #1 on Amazon in 2014 (Renaissance Fiction) and changed my life forever. I released ALLEGRA in 2016, featuring Grand Duke Cosimo I, Francesco de' Medici, and Bianca Cappello. Both books are sold on Amazon, Paperback Exchange, and in the Uffizi Gallery. Today, I'm full time author specializing in historical novels set in Italy. I've written several books, and am currently writing more. I also contribute articles to the Florence News
I will provide a glass of traditional Tuscan wine (red or white), and a signed C. De Melo novel for each participant.
We will be visiting a recently opened wine bar that flaunts the original "travi a vista" ceilings from the medieval period and liberty style tiles. The space is decorated with quaint old photos and vintage paraphernalia. This unique venue will surely please even those with the most discerning tastes. Note: this is a fun, casual place so no need to get fancy.
最多可供6位年滿18歲的旅人參加。 Please respect the other guests by being punctual.
You may wish to bring a map of Florence along with a notepad and pen.
This is an indoor experience that takes place before dinner.
