Discover Long Island City with locals!
Guests will be taken on a tour of this incredible neighborhood to the best places to enjoy food and drink (bites) and our famous views (sights)!
We’ll start the tour with a walk down LIC’s main restaurant strip where guests will get the opportunity to indulge in some classic NYC local snacks. Along the way, you’ll get to experience the novelty of this booming neighborhood while learning a bit about its history and evolution to a mini metropolis.
We’ll then make our way towards the stunning LIC waterfront to take in the sights and explore some of the best places for photo opportunities in front of the iconic Manhattan skyline backdrop!
We are 1 subway stop from Grand Central Terminal which is in the heart of midtown NYC. A 5-minute train ride, and you've arrived!

Other things to note
Definitely bring a camera (your smartphone will suffice)! Unfortunately, this tour is not its best in rainy/snowy weather. We are happy to reschedule tours when the weather is not cooperating.

We'll meet in Long Island City and you'll be taken to local spots from a pizzeria to a brewery to riverside parks. We'll make our way towards the East River to walk the LIC promenade with access to our famous stunning views (right below the famed Pepsi sign!).

The Long Island 'Sites and Bites Tour' offered by Marianna and Rod was one of the highlights of our holiday in New York City (and it was one of the best holidays we've ever had). I wholeheartedly recommend this tour; it was highly entertaining, informative and time just flew by as we were walking around Long Island streets. It was lovely to discover hidden little side-streets, not to mention the fact that Gantry Park offers excellent views of Manhattan – and we had the privilege to see the Manhattan skyline in the magical lights of the setting sun!
During the tour, we were shown some of the favourite places of Long Island locals to have a bite or taste beer (the local artisan breweries seemed very inviting), and we also got to know quite a bit about the neighbourhood, its history and recent developments, including interesting snippets of information about the art scene. Gantry Park – along with the iconic Pepsi Cola sign – is a very lovely spot for taking photos, walking around or just spending hours marvelling at the breath-taking view.
Marianna and Rod are wonderful people and we are very glad to have met them! We would have fallen in love with Long Island anyway, but the fact that they introduced this place to us makes it even more special – a very cherished memory indeed.

We were a small group and that was great. Marianna and her husband walked around the neighborhood Hunters point with us, showed us some pictures of how it looked like in the past and told us about their daily life there. We had pizza, tried some Pale Ale in a local brewery and enjoyed the beautiful view at the skyline of Manhattan. It was a relaxing and nice day, like going for a walk with friends at a Saturday afternoon. At the end they recommended a great restaurant (with coupons!) where we enjoyed our evening. See you two in Berlin! :)

Both Marianna and her husband are amazing tour guides. They are very jolly, and bring with them lot of passion about the city.
