After the meeting at bus stationAmsterdam Noord we take a public bus to a small village in Waterland. After a drink in the house of Majel, we go in canoes through the village and meadow lands. After 1,5 hour paddling we make a stop on an island for picnic dinner. When the sun goes down we go back to the starting spot. Have a drinkat Majels house before we go back to Amsterdam. Some time we come back a bit later. When the weather is nice you can have a swim at the picnic spot. Bring the right clothes. In the evening it is always a bit cooler.
Other things to note
You need to be fit to do the the tour. We advice that you can swim even the waters are shallow. Bring the right clothes for the evening. Swimmers, extra jacket, bottle of water

Majel grew up in the Lake District , the Wieden in North West Overijssel, known of the village Giethoorn.
In the 1980s she studied environmental science . After her studies she travelled for 10 years around the world., as a representative of Dutch travel organizations. In addition, she sailed the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and attended the skipper school in Enkhuizen.
Water is a central subject in her life and she wants to share this passion with you.
Majel would like to show you the backwaters of Amsterdam in an uniquely different way.

You will see an Old Dutch villagein Waterland, the meadow land with their meadowland birds, espcially till July. And of course the Dutch cows and polder windmill. After this tour you will understand why Amsterdam is build the way at it is and much more about how Dutch people are taking care living below sealevel.
once a lifetime experience... This afternoon was only Majel，me，and the breath taking landscapes. Feel like step into a secret wonderland and had in there a sweetest dream ever. I appreciate everything that Majel and the goats the cows the odd neck asian darks brought to me. But what makes it unique is all about Majel，she is definitely the most charming lady in Amsterdam，funny，smart，considerate，amiable...she is such a pleasant person and just keeps you super comfortable and happy all the time！

I loved this experience! It was just outside of the city of Amsterdam but it was very tranquil and pretty with all the fields and canals! Majel was such a nice and interesting lady and i had such a great canoeing experience and learnt much about the country. We also had a really nice picnic at a superb spot. Such a nice break from the city!

Wow, what an adventure. Beyond peaceful and enjoyable. The people, picnic and whole journey was just breathtaking. Bring your swim suite for that dip as you will not regret it. Majel is beyond knowledgable and has planned this adventure. Well worth your money and much more to be honest. You won’t get this intimate journey any where else.
