Let’s flip the Thai Baht coins together, and discover more behind the Iconic temples on our coins!
We’ll start by picking you up from your hotel in Bangkok. We’ll use Bangkok’s public transportation like a local to visit all the temples, and spend around 1.30 to 2 hours in each place to discover more of what you’ll see.
Let’s start with the 5 Baht coin! The Marble Temple hosts one of Thailand’s most beautiful ordination halls. Then, we’ll go to the Golden Mountain featured on the 2 Baht coin. Climb the winding 300-step staircase around the hill and you’ll find the golden pagoda at the top
Then, we’ll savor some delicious, delectable Thai food at a local restaurant nearby. Be sure to order a cold drink, as Bangkok’s heat can be unforgiving!
With stomachs full, and smiles all round, let’s resume our tour! The Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace on the 1 Baht coin. Let’s pay respect to the Emerald Buddha, and appreciate the epic murals.
Last but not least is Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, appearing on the 10 Baht coin. this is where you can immerse in the breathtaking scenery along the Chao Phraya River.

By using the public transportation, we will travel to Marble Temple, to explore the fascinating temple with white, gold, and red decorations; Golden Mountain, where you can climb to the top of stupa to enjoy the scenery over Bangkok; the Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace, the highlight of Bangkok where you'll see a beautiful mural; and Arun Temple, for the best view along the Chaophraya River.

Our guide Boat was wonderful! This experience is worth it and having a guide to share the history of Thailand and each temple made the experience even more magical. Boat went the extra mile and showed us the flower market and old siam. Take this tour!

This was an absolutely fantastic tour. My tour guide Sara is the most friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful guide. Pickup and drop off at my hotel went very smoothly, and it was lovely to connect with Sara over WhatsApp the day before the tour. We went to the Grand Palace and its temple, where Sara explained the history of many parts of the complex and details of the temple decoration. It turned out she’s a fabulous photographer and thanks to her I now have many great pictures of myself at all the sites! We then grabbed a fab lunch of pad Thai a short walk away. We then got on the hop-on hop-off boat to a beautiful smaller temple where I got to learn more about the temple art. Then we walked a minute to get to the incredible Wat Arun where Sara explained its history and the many statues. After we got the boat back across the river, we finished the tour at the Golden Mount where Sara explained a bit more about Thailand’s earlier kings. I can not recommend this tour highly enough. All costs from the day were included which made things logistically very easy for me. The unexpected bonus was hanging out with the lovely Sara as well as benefitting from her photo skills! I highly recommend that anyone coming to BKK books this tour.

We had a good time on this tour! Our local guide was Pongwit (Geng) and we were pleasantly surprised that despite the listing saying we would take public transport, we were provided with a private driver for the day! He arrived a bit early, and we set off for the first temple. He would run and get us entry tickets while we looked around or stood in the shade (because that hot Thai sun is NO joke!). We were glad to take this tour with just us (or even a few more people would have been fine), because after seeing the HUGE tour groups at the more crowded temples, I think I would have felt left out in a bigger group.

For the lone traveler as well as a group, I would recommend reaching out to Taro and his wonderful colleague Kittichai (aka Boat). Taro helped me with logistics and was super efficient and quick with his responses. 'Boat' was a kind, helpful and sincere host. He took pains to answer my questions to the best of his ability, paced the exploration to my needs (I had an injury and was hobbling), helped me negotiate crowds and conversations with locals and really did an excellent job of showing me the 'Baht coin' Buddhist sites. I got the opportunity to understand Thai culture better thanks to him and enjoyed his easy nature and good humour. Taro and 'Boat' are reliable, safe and good with their work. I saw beautiful temples (also Grand Plaza), ate a good meal and went home with postcard-worthy photographs. I dare say, I even found a friend in 'Boat'. So sign up today! Make the most of a well-curated and nicely planned trip. :)
