Our experienced Tour Guides will take you on a short walk (some uphill) informing you of incredible & exciting historical events from Letterkennys beginnings. From the Market Square to the old Church Lane where we have traced the residents back 150 years. Into Conwal Parish Church & Graveyard we explore interesting gravestones & the stories behind them. Make our way to Sentry Hill around poignant monuments & then welcome the splendour of The Cathedral of St.Eunan & Colmcille. A short dander & we finish off at the Workhouse & Donegal County Museum.
Dresscode: expect 4 seasons in one day

We begin at the Market Square then dander up the historic Church Lane where we have traced the residents back 150 years. A short walk takes us into Conwal Parish Church and graveyard. We then visit the poignant Sentry Hill. Marvel at the splendour of St.Eunans Cathedral & then we visit Donegal County Museum to learn of the workhouses and the famine graveyard finishing off with the History of Donegal exhibition.

We loved this excellent walking tour of the Cathedral Quarter in Letterkenny. An excellent guide with a marvellous blend of history, fun, knowledge, legend, facts and gossip. What a great experience for anyone who loves history and gaining insight into the culture, both past and present, of an area. Amanda is a local and possesses a thorough knowledge of the area and people. She laced the historical facts with many stories that brought the history to life. The stroll around Letterkenny is beautiful. And even better she is warm and charming. She shared tips and ideas with me to make my stay better. Ideas of what to see and do. Cannot recommend this tour more highly!!

Really nice little walk, learnt a lot I couldn’t have in classes. Amanda is so charming and knowledgeable, she showed me how people’s lives are alike in modern days and connect such with historical events. I’m still thinking after two days, quite enlightening!
