This is a walking tour with sketching. But your skill of sketching is not required.
Route: Tsutenkaku tower B1 (Character goods shop) ~ Billiken Shrine ~ (go through Tennoji zoo) ~ Ketaku-en Japanese garden ~ Osaka City Museum of Art (option) ~ Wake Bridge ~ Mt. Chausu ~ Isshinji Theater ~ Shitennoji Temple (including a main hall) ~sketching at a rest house of the temple
This route has full of "Deep Osaka" Flavor you've never seen before. People can not speak English, but they are very friendly to you. They will start to talk to you in their body language. So let's start talking with them. I will help you with Japanese.
Temple's restaurant is unique! There is a food ticket machine to order your food. All typical Japanese food like udon & soba noodles, beef bowl, Japanese curry rice. If you order Japanese noodle, shall you make some noise while you are eating it? Because making noises is a way of eating Japanese noodle.
This route has a lot of greens, arts and nature of Japan. Not hard for you to find examples for your sketching.
Tips: Before starting to sketch, take some pictures of your targets. Small things would be better, a flower, a leaf of a tree, a coffee cup for your lunch or etc.

I was a manga artist & an illustrator for many media. Also I had a manga class for adults at a hobby school. But now I'm a licenced tour guide. Always looking for amazing places for my guests from overseas, this is my job. Something different, unique and exciting ones. Then I came up with this sketch tour, packing the both experiences all in one, manga artist & tour guide.
Speaking of sketching, everyone says "No sketching because I'm poor at doing it", but after sketching they said "I could heard a sound of a wind I had never focused on". That's the point. Not only sketching, also focusing on something you've never had.

Shitenno-ji Temple: Central Cathedral (including 5-story pagoda) or Gokuraku Garden, Nio-mon gate, Gokuraku-mon Gate are the worth of drawing.
Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts: Sometimes they provide us with an exhibition of fine arts for free.
Keitaku-en Garden: Japanese Garden. The best place for amateur painters.
Tsutenkaku street: A good spot for photos & souvenirs
Weather it rains or not, we will do sketching in a garden's house.

I had a wonderful afternoon with Setsuko. We went all around deep Osaka and I was able to see and learn about a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I really enjoyed the swap meet and seeing a 1,400 year old temple! Setsuko was a great tour guide and really knows her stuff. Highly recommend.

Setsuko was very sweet :) My 9-year-old and I had barely got off the plane after an endless travel, and we dived right into Osaka. I loved how Setsuko took us from popular to arts to sacred, from city to nature, as well as how she took great care of us, all jet-lagged and hungry :) Sitting down for lunch and spending some quiet time learning origami and drawing was a very sweet and peaceful way to end the tour. Thank you Setsuko, you shared your passion so well we ended up spending more time than planed in Osaka ^^

A wonderful day with a great planned walking route. I just to with Setsuko and one other attendee and we enjoyed a day of walking and stories finishing with tasty lunch, relaxing and drawing. Setsuko is fun, easy going, full of stories and with an enjoyable energy and humour.
She loves Chicken Ramen too. But more on that when you enjoy her lovely experience.

I am so happy I met Setsuko. She was a riot! Knowledgeable, friendly, and good humored. I was lucky enough to have my own private tour. Setsuko showed me a peaceful park and beautiful temple. She shared with me interesting stories about the local area and her life. I really enjoyed spending time with her and really getting to know the local area. After the tour we sketched at a trendy cafe and it was so nice to sit and draw quietly with another’s company. I felt so relaxed. As a bonus, I joined Setsuko to see a traditional Japanese dance! She was so kind to invite me and to allow me to be part of the local community.
