The experience starts at the Lion's Head parking area. We walk up the circular path to the start of the head proper. The route grade is "B". The views from the summit of Lions head at 660m is 360 degrees and totally breathtaking. You decide whether you want to take the more adventurous "chains" route or just a B scramble on a well established Path.
Other things to note
NOTE: If another time suits you we can change it. Lions Head is 670 meters high and we climb about 400 m, so a fair level of fitness is essential. There is mild exposure.

Lions Head is most probably the most hiked mountain in the world and the 360 degree views from the top are magnificent. Lions Head is a sandstone massif plonked on top of a mudstone layer which itself is on top of underlying Cape Granite. We can enjoy a bite on top while taking wrap around pictures before descending to the cars once more.

We've had wonderful experience with Keith. He picked us up early in the morning and told us a lot of interesting facts and stories about the South African nature. He was also happy to take pictures of us so we could have beautiful memories of this magnificent sunrise hike.

Keith picked me up for our morning hike on time, and hiked at a pace that I was comfortable with. Often when booking personal experiences (it was just Keith and I), you wonder if there will be any connection... We had conversations about rock climbing the mountain, fauna, Cape Town, our lives and much more which made the hike pleasant. This was a great experience! Thank you.

Great morning hike with Keithup to the top of Lion's Head. We meet some of his friends along the way. I chose the more difficult route and I'm glad I did. It was amazing and exhilarating. Glad I was able to do this before leaving Cape Town. Keith was an amazing host/guide. Very knowledgeable about the terrain, wildlife and view from the top. Would definitely recommend him and do it again with him as my guide.

Great experience to hike with Keith, especially because he took me on a bit more challenging path up the mountain away from the crowds. He also knows a lot about the area and its wildlife which made the trip very interesting. Highly recomment to hike with him!

Keith is such an amazing tour guide! We both learned so much information during our hike. Keith is so genuine and passionate about nature and trails, and it really showed during our experience. He made sure to go ahead of us at certain points so we could follow his technique, and also snapped some photos of us along the way! He was awesome, I would definitely book him again!
