This is a chance to experience a sunset high up at the old hill fort known as Craig Phadrig above the Beauly Firth.
It’s an evening start as we need to meet up and drive the short distance to the area and climb to the top for the sunset - but it will all be worth it!
At the location I will help in you getting the best from your camera and ensure you take some super sunset shots, we'l then have a picnic of shortbread and coffee.
The walk is around 1.5 hours there and back with time at the top it's normally 2 hours covering around 3km with a short ascent to the top. But we take it at your pace and with incredible scenery we stop for plenty of photos as we catch our breath on the way up!
You do need to be prepared for windy and chilly weather, even in summer and it may mean that our picnic is a speedy one, or we have it lower down the hill once we have seen the sunset. In the case of rain we may not be able to see a sunset, but the tour will still go ahead as it's still a great walk!

Guests need to have a moderate level of fitness and the ability to walk a hilly 3 miles. Please ONLY consider this tour if your health allows for this kind of activity.

I moved to the Highlands for the wonderful natural outdoor environment it offered our children. Living now in Inverness it's allowed me to become both a Superhost and pursue my interests in photography and the outdoors. I love meeting people from around the world that stay here, and now I'm able to let them experience a Scottish sunrise standing on one of the many mountains that are right on our doorstep!

A visit to the site of the ancient fort atop Craig Phadrig, the wooded hill that rises on the west side of Inverness. The short ascent reveals glorious views over the Beauly Firth.
It was probably first built in the Iron Age around 300 BC and then, for some reason lost in history, abandoned and burned. Later it was re-occupied as the headquarters of a powerful Pictish king.

The experience was very pleasant. Communication regarding pickup and time were smooth and straightforward, David was great to talk to with a lot of knowledge of the area and there were good suggestions for activities and locations we could explore during our stay in Inverness. The sunset hike was well planned and the terrain was very manageable by myself, someone not in the best shape.
David continued to provide insights into the fort and surrounding area as well as the view from the hill. Upon reaching the top we had the option of tea or coffee and a snack while waiting for and watching the sunset. The view was very nice and it was all very peaceful, thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

Great beginner level hike! Since it was just me and my husband, David picked us up from where we were staying and drove us the short drive to the hike location. All along throughout the experience he shared tips on where to eat and go in addition to sharing the story of the place we were hiking. The whole trip was about 90 minutes so it is easy to fit into a busy travel schedule. Highly recommend!

Communicating with David was easy and he was accommodating to my request as I was travelling with my mum. The walk was relatively easy. You will just need a little bit of fitness and you be fine!
David also shared great stories along the way. It was something that I would not have experienced. Highly recommended when you are in Inverness!
