體驗簡介

The theme of this experience is sake, but it is not only for drinkers. Sake is not only for drinking—we use it to make sweets and beauty cosmetics too. Even if you don't drink alcohol or are not of legal drinking age, you can still enjoy this experience. Fushimi is a cozy local town, located between Kyoto and Osaka. It is a peaceful place to walk around.
First, we will learn about sake culture by visiting the sake museum. Then we will visit a local confectionary shop, which sells sake sweets. Then I'll bring you to my favorite sake breweries to enjoy tasting and shopping.
(I used to make this experience with a meal, but not now. I can introduce my favorite sake restaurant though ;)

I’m Akari originally from Kyushu, south part of Japan. I studied in Tokyo, worked in Kyoto once, then I travled around the world by cruise ship as an international youth program staff, then I lived and worked in NL and PEI of Canada for two years and half and I came back to Kyoto.

After the many years of travel, now I want to share my own culture with other people. So I teach Japanese online, and enjoys introducing beautiful Kyoto.

From 2010 to 2011, I lived and worked in the Fushimi sake brewery area doing advertising and tourism. I edited the town magazine, and organized several sake tasting events. Due to that, I know all of the breweries of this area, and I am very passionate about sake.

體驗地點

This experience will be fun. Not only will you taste good food and drinks, but there is also beautiful scenery. Along the route we'll walk and see a beautiful sake brewery on the riverside. Compared to other parts of Kyoto, this area is not too crowded yet, so we can talk to the local people and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

The tour was lovely. We had a small group so it was a personalized experience. The area we walked through was very picturesque.

Akari is a wonderful host, taking you through an area of Kyoto I would not otherwise have visited. In addition to the sake breweries and museum, we visited the Chokenji-Temple and a small sweets shop- all of which have an incredible history in the area. My favourite part of the tour was the sake tasting, I certainly recommended this tour if you are a “sake beginner” like me!

I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour and had Akari's undivided attention. Since she had worked in the area where the sake breweries are located, she knew the area and it's history very well. The visit to the breweries and nearby restaurants to taste some of the delicacies that are the byproduct of sake brewing (in addition to the sake itself) was wonderful. Overall a rewarding trip which helped this novice understand sake brewing and the uniqueness of Kyoto-sake more in depth.

As our family were the only ones booked that day on Akari’s sake tour, we felt that we had a very personalized experience and were never rushed along. We would have never thought to explore this region of Kyoto, so we are glad that Akari has offered this experience. The meal at the restaurant was tasty and a nice way to communicate. We felt like we were spending time with a good friend.

This was quite a treat! I did not have much time to spend in Kyoto, however I wanted a unique experience with something I would otherwise never see in the US - and I LOVE sake! Akari was both very kind and super knowledgeable. We explored a museum and visited breweries and got to taste some of the best sake I’ve ever had! Our dinner at the end of the night paired wonderfully with the sake we had sampled and she answered so many questions I had not only about sake, but about Kyoto and Japan. I would recommend this experience hands down to anyone who has an interest in sake and seeing a little bit of the lesser traveled parts of Kyoto. Well done. :)

Akari is an exceptional host. She knows a ton about sake (and a whole lot of other stuff!) and is super friendly and fun to talk with. I had an amazing time at the sake museum, walking around town meeting new people, trying different kinds of sake and having dinner at the restaurant. She really puts her all into the tour and it absolutely shows. I've come away from the tour with a brand new appreciation for sake!
